A guide to where
Kuala Lumpur eats.

The Editors Narrative

AyamPanas began as a bookmark folder. Every week a friend would text us a link to some new place in Bangsar or TTDI, and every week we'd lose it in the feed. By 2026, the folder had 400 tabs and no one remembered which cafe had the good kaya or which chicken rice had the queue. So we built a guide - to keep track, and to share.

Today the site watches KL's dining scene every morning and ranks every spot by a simple idea: what are people actually clicking on, and how recently. The result is a living list of where the city is eating right now, free to use, free from sponsored placements.

"We don't write biased reviews. We surface the places Kuala Lumpur is paying attention to - ranked by real reader clicks, not press releases." - The Editors

Every spot on AyamPanas is sourced from a real publication. There is no paid placement, no affiliate fees, no "sponsored by." When a restaurant rises on our leaderboard it is because its article was clicked, not because we were asked to feature it.

We live in KL. We eat here. If a place is terrible, it eventually falls off - and if a place is quietly great, clicks lift it up. The algorithm is transparent, the sources are public, and the only real test is the queue on a Saturday morning.

How we keep the guide honest.

I · Principles
i.

No biased content

Ever. Not in the leaderboard, not in search, not in trending. Restaurants cannot cheat their way onto AyamPanas. If the food is good, we will tell you.

ii.

Clicks, not press releases.

A spot rises because readers click through to read about it. Old articles with no engagement fall away on their own.

iii.

Open sources, one click away.

Every spot links back to the original article that covered it. If you want the full review, you go straight to the writer who ate there.
