The Overlook, Damansara Uptown

AyamPanas·Published 2026-11-061 views

The Overlook is a tea house in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya, where tea sommeliers brew Taiwanese oolongs and Chinese teas to order, by the pot. Its menu also runs to bottled cold brew teas, nitro tea on draft and alcohol-free tea drinks.

It calls itself a tea experience, not a café, and the list shows why: more than 40 teas on the Tea Sommelier's Artisanal Brew menu alone, from Dong Ding Oolong and Oriental Beauty out of Taiwan to Da Hong Pao, Phoenix oolongs, pu-er from Yunnan and Liu Bao. Each of those pots can be steeped up to five times, and the sommelier sets the brew to suit the tea you pick.

What to Order at The Overlook

Start with a pot of Dong Ding Oolong (RM38), a Taiwanese oolong that sits at the gentler end of the price list, then trade up as your curiosity takes you:

  • Oriental Beauty 2026 - RM60, or the 2025 harvest at RM90
  • Da Hong Pao - RM55
  • Ming Qian Bi Luo Chun - RM45
  • Yi Wu Ripe Pu-er - RM48
  • Hui Yuan Keng Rou Gui - RM168
  • Bi Luo Chun Cold Brew - RM25, from the signature cold brew list
  • Plum Velvet, a nitro tea on draft - RM20
  • Tie Guan Yin Salted Cream Cap - RM20

On The Overlook menu, a brewed tea runs from RM22 for Jasmine Silver Needle to RM288 for a Wild Meng Ku Raw Pu-er, and the cold brews, nitro teas, floral infusions and tea drinks cost RM20 to RM25. A 10% service charge goes on top, at the time of writing in November 2026.

To take a tea home, The Overlook's Pick sells boxes of five packets, from RM86 for Dong Ding Oolong or Jasmine Silver Needle to RM217 for Wild Tie Guan Yin.
