It is the work of content creator Ming Chun, and it got here the hard way. Gepuklah started as pop-up stalls at events and food festivals, then ran weekend-only sessions from a shop in Taman Sea in April 2026, where the queues stretched to two hours — Ming Chun's own mother, a retired teacher, waited two hours as number 83. When the permanent restaurant opened in Damansara Jaya, people were lining up before 10am on the first morning.

The idea is a Malaysian rewrite of the Indonesian smashed-chicken plate: the chicken sits on nasi lemak rice rather than plain white rice, and the sambal is made with roasted cashews.
