Loong Foong in Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya, is a corner Chinese seafood restaurant that most people visit for one dish: its roast duck, served over rice with a sauce made from the duck's own juices.

It is a seafood restaurant by name, but the duck is the reason to come. A plate brings eight to ten pieces of roast duck over white rice with cucumber slices, the skin crisp and fatty and the meat juicy. Every plate gets the house sauce, made from the jus of a freshly roasted duck, sweetened with caramelised onions and spiced with five-spice powder. Lunch runs until 2pm and dinner starts at 5pm, with nothing in between, and on Sundays it opens for dinner only. Parking is on the street.

What to Order at Loong Foong

Order the roast duck rice: rice, cucumber and eight to ten pieces of duck, with the onion and five-spice sauce over the top.

Beyond the duck, Loong Foong runs as a Chinese seafood restaurant, with beer for the table and outdoor seating. Expect to spend around RM20 to RM40 a person, and check the Loong Foong Roast Duck Facebook Page for today's dishes before a big order.

Roast duck in PJ, roast duck rice in Taman Paramount or a seafood dinner on the SEA Park side of Petaling Jaya: Loong Foong covers all three, at lunch and dinner six days a week.
