Nabo Space is a shio pan bakery in Cybersouth, Dengkil, run by two childhood friends who built their own recipe out of every salt bread they had eaten and liked. Each batch takes three hours start to finish, made with Japanese bread flour, and is served in limited portions each evening — so this is a plan-ahead visit rather than a drop-in. What to Order at Nabo Space The plain shio pan is the honest test: crisp to the bite, light but with enough chew behind it to be satisfying. There is a dark chocolate version, and the one to actually queue for is the ebi shio pan, topped with prawns bought fresh from the market that morning and finished with a house-blended sriracha mayo. Coal is a coffee bar in Bangsar, and the daytime counterpart to Coley — the cocktail parlour that has been working through whisky since 2016. Same people, same room sensibility, steam wands instead of shakers. It opens at 9am. The point of it is that a bar built for midnight turns out to work rather well before noon. For something sweet, the charcoal choux hides a vanilla cremeux inside its dark shell. Drinks go beyond the espresso menu. Seed pours coffee with almond milk, infused with jackfruit and chestnut, and there is a house-fermented soursop kombucha for anyone starting the day off caffeine.
